Here are a few itineraries that you might use to help determine what type of
vacation is best for you.
Please note: Many
tours, a certain amount of walking is involved. On Continental tours,
especially, we cannot access sites and attractions, or park near them. Clients
who have mobility problems may not find these tours suitable or may have to be
prepared to miss certain sites which have to be walked to.

FINDING THE RIGHT VACATION
Most people wouldn’t think of buying a piece of clothing that isn’t the
right size. So too, when buying a vacation, finding the right fit can
make or break the experience.
To help you find the right vacation to suit your style and personality,
we suggest you ask yourself the following five questions.
What is important to you?
What do you expect from your trip? Are you looking for a particular
level of comfort or luxury? If luxury accommodations are important, be
sure to ask what category hotels will be used.
How much activity do you want?
Some people want to see everything; others prefer a casual day on the
beach or to relax in a café. On an escorted tour, find out how much
actual travel there is, versus time to stay put. Is there enough free
time? Check the itinerary carefully to be sure that the sights you want
to see are included.
How do you fit in?
Try to choose accommodations that are compatible with your style and
comfort level. If you like things casual, check to see whether it may be
too formal for your taste; or vice versa. If on an escorted tour, decide
how important it is that the other people in your group be from a
similar background or educational level.
Are your expectations realistic?
Are you willing to compromise in order to save money? If you’re trying
to save money, decide whether it matters that your hotel room faces the
back or has no view. Remember, you usually get what you pay for. If
you’re traveling on a bare bones budget, don’t expect top-drawer luxury.
What type of vacation is right for you?
Does an escorted tour, a special interest trip with like-minded
individuals, or an independent, on-your-own vacation fill the bill.

- Southwest England
-
This is a real experience. You'll never forget the narrow country lanes where
the hedgerows grow higher than the cars, the villages where it's difficult for
bicycles to pass let alone motorized vehicles, the thatched cottage hamlets and
small fishing harbours accessible only on foot
- Italy
-
This is a country high on everybody's 'must see' list. Italy has been
attracting tourists since at least the15th century (and we don't include the
various conquering invaders!).
It was an essential part of a young man's (and the occasional liberated young
lady's) education throughout the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. The 'Grand
Tour' of Europe was incomplete without time spent studying in one of the great
renaissance cities. Carrying home a Canalletto painting home to hang on one's
wall was as much a pre-requisite of travel as is today's purchase of souvenirs
and sending postcards home.
- France
-
It would be difficult to find another touring holiday with so much variety, so
much beauty and so many riches in such a relatively compact area. This is the
France of the great Loire valley chateaux and vineyards, the France of the
calvados, the rolling Normandy countryside, and the France of Monet and his
contemporary impressionists. It is the France, too, of history; from the amazing
prehistory of Brittany’s Carnac, and the imposing, fortified, hilltop cities and
castles of the mediaeval period, to the pre-revolutionary riches of the XVIIIth
century. Of course, it is also the France of a more recent history, of the
D-Day landings at Omaha and Utah and the battles for Normandy. And then it
is also the France of breathtaking cathedrals, like Chartres and of ornate,
saint-filled village churche
- Scotland
-
Scotland and Ireland is unique. history covering thousands of years,
prehistoric sites, castles, churches and chapels, film locations, walled
cities, museums, quaint villages, combined with nature at her best in
amazing coastline, rolling countryside and stunning mountains
- Spain and Portugal
- At the
crossroads of Iberia and Europe... this lovely tour takes you through three very
distinct regions, rich in memory and being relatively close together, making an
ideal and unforgettable tour itinerary.
Catalonia ('Catalunya' in Catalan) offers the unusual experience of being in a
country within a country, with its own language, culture and cuisine, The region
is intensely different from the rest of Spain and its people take pride in its
unique history.
